Artist Statement:

Can we truly own our stories without knowing where we are in the midst of it? As life is ever-evolving, each of my "Glass Strings" sculptures represents all the individual strings or factors from the past that brought me to the present, celebrating right now as a significant moment, but also seeing how the strings continue, setting me up for what's next.

Individually, they are a snapshot of life. Installed together, they are a feature film of hope, acknowledging where we've been, owning where we are, and setting the trajectory (and mindset) of where we're headed!

Artist Bio:

Anna Curnes has BA in Fine Arts from Wake Forest University, and has studied under numerous glass experts across the world, including Glass Master Diego Bottacin in Murano, Italy. She began Anna Lou Glass in 2012, and founded ALG Fine Art (formerly ALG Collective) in 2018 where she also serves as the Gallery Director. Her innovative glasswork can be found in private and public collections across the nation.
